TragicServers was formed in May 2012 as a result of owner Roilan Salinas’ passion for online gaming. As an avid gamer playing Valve Corporation’s ‘Team Fortress 2’, he noticed a need to service the game’s small but growing community of online players. QuadraNet recently interviewed Mr. Salinas to answer a few questions about his experiences with QuadraNet and the company’s future plans.

1.  Why did TragicServers originally choose QuadraNet?
“We initially started with a different provider, and we were overcharged. It was becoming harder to stay competitive, and QuadraNet changed that for us. We got an email from Adam (Sales), and he gave us unbelievable quotes. It was incredibly cheaper and much higher quality hardware than our previous provider. Knowing that QuadraNet had multiple locations for growth was icing on the cake.”

2.  How does TragicServers feel about their overall experience with QuadraNet?
“QuadraNet has been a blessing in disguise for us. We started with rented hardware after migrating from another provider and transitioned to owned hardware. Both times it was easy and painless. The QuadraNet team did more than I ever expected.”

3.  How does TragicServers feel about QuadraNet’s 24×7 remote hands support? And how satisfied is TragicServers with the quality of support from the QuadraNet support staff?
“It’s fantastic. It’s great to know it’s there when I need it, regardless of the time or day. We’ve had moments when we needed a KVM attached on demand, and it was never a problem. The biggest surprise one was shipping the last node. Our vendor sent us failing drives. I informed Adam about it because it would cause some delays. He mentioned QuadraNet had drives in stock to avoid those delays. They installed the drives and setup the RAID at no additional cost.”

4.  How does QuadraNet’s VEST DDoS protection solution help TragicServers in protecting its infrastructure and maintaining high uptime?
“I’m incredibly happy and satisfied with the DDoS protection. Having basic DDoS protection included at no cost is incredible. Just today we had a customer that who got DDoSed and VEST DDoS protection covered it without any issues or disruption. It’s also great receiving email notifications when the filter kicks in.”

5.  TragicServers utilizes QuadraNet’s datacenter in Los Angeles for providing hosting services. How is TragicServers benefitting from QuadraNet’s Asian Optimized network?
“Los Angeles is our most popular location. Asian Optimized IPs are one of the most requested when picking Los Angeles as well. Being able to cater specifically to Asian customers has been a huge win for us. This location wouldn’t be as big without the Asian Optimized network from QuadraNet.”

6.  Any plans to expand to more of QuadraNet datacenter locations in the future?
“One of the many things I love about QuadraNet is the datacenter locations. When I first got started, there were only three locations. Since then, QuadraNet has expanded to five, and I’m sure more are coming soon. This gives us the flexibility of covering most of North America and is what our customers demand. We’re definitely going to expand to Chicago next.”
